Who We Are
Our vision for Dance Assembly NC (DANC) is three-fold:
To strengthen connections across the statewide professional contemporary dance communities by bolstering lines of communication between regional dance networks in North Carolina
To encourage the flow of resource sharing between statewide professional dance communities
To increase professional opportunities for contemporary dance artists in NC by:
Developing reliable and regular advanced training in technique classes for professional dancers
Creating new paid opportunities to perform in and present choreography
Forging collaborative relationships and projects for dancers, choreographers and artists of varied disciplines statewide
Meet the DA Team
Carrie Plew and Caitlyn Schrader join forces as Dance Assembly NC!
As professional dance artists and educators living and working in Greensboro, NC, they met four years ago when they were both Artists-in-Residence through the North Carolina Dance Festival. Quickly, they realized they shared a mutual synergy and exciting vision for the professional dance communities of NC.
